As a church committed to praying for one another, we post this daily reminder we can all use for that purpose. It contains links to a Bible reading that if followed daily will have taken you through the entire Bible by this time next year, devotional thoughts from Our Daily Bread, and the passage upon which those thoughts are based, with a prayer inspired by that passage. Devotional Passage: Psalm 56:1-4
Prayer: When we are afraid, Heavenly Father, we will put our trust in You, our God Whose Word we praise, knowing that You superintend virtually anything and everything that mere mortals might intend for us. We thank You for Your perfect love that drives out fear; that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but Your Spirit Who gives us power, love, and self-discipline. You are a Shield around us, the One Who lifts our heads and answers our prayers. We lie down and sleep; we wake again because You sustain us. You are our Light and Salvation Who rescues us from fear, our Refuge and Strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not be afraid no matter the circumstances that militate against us because we belong to You as those who are called and kept by virtue of the death and resurrection of Your Beloved Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Whose Name we pray. Amen.
