Loving Obedience

As a church committed to praying for one another, we post this daily reminder we can all use for that purpose. It contains links to a Bible reading that if followed daily will have taken you through the entire Bible by this time next year, devotional thoughts from Our Daily Bread, and the passage upon which those thoughts are based, with a prayer inspired by that passage. Devotional Passage: John 14:15-21
Prayer: We thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your precious promises to be with us in the Person of the Holy Spirit indwelling us, to grace us with the life You give, to be loved by You and our Heavenly Father, and to make Yourself known to us as those who are so loved. May our appreciation for those promises be our motivation to obey You as our demonstration of genuine love for You that lays claim to all that comes from You as promised by You. We trust You to continue teaching and leading us in the process of living in obedience to You, in reliance upon Your grace and mercy, in ways that bring You honor, glory, and praise as the One Who makes it all possible by virtue of Your death to deliver us from the penalty for sin, resurrection and current intercessory ministry as our Great High Priest to deliver us from the power of sin, and Your future return to deliver us from even the presence of sin. May we indeed trust and obey, for there is no other way to be happy in You but to trust and obey. Amen.
