Eyes to See

Eyes to See

May 8, 2024

As a church committed to praying for one another, we post this daily reminder we can all use for that purpose.  It contains links to a Bible reading that if followed daily will have taken you through the entire Bible by this time next year, devotional thoughts from Our Daily Bread, and the passage upon which those thoughts are based, with a prayer inspired by that passage.  We hope you will find it helpful!

Bible in a Year: 2 Kings 4-6; Luke 24:36-53

Today’s Our Daily Bread:  Eyes to See | Our Daily Bread (odb.org)

Devotional Passage: 2 Kings 6:15-23

Prayer: Today’s passage reminds us, Lord Jesus, of Your exhortation to open our eyes and look at the fields that are ripe for harvest; that while the harvest is plentiful, the workers are few, so we ask You, the Lord of the harvest, to send workers into Your harvest fields.  Please grace us with perseverance as we work Your harvest and pray for more workers to be raised.  Borrowing from the hymn, we ask You, Almighty Father, to give us a vision of a dying world that needs Your love and care.  We see the need, the yearning for a Savior.  In Jesus’ Name, grant this our prayer, to be Your people wherever we are placed, to live Your goodness and share Your grace, to proclaim Your mercy through Your Son, and to share His love with everyone.  Amen.

If you have a prayer request or a prayer for all of us that we can share for one another, please send it to prayerchain@nbccparker.com.
